The Veldismagn stave is an Icelandic magical stave (a type of galdrastafir), whose name roughly translates as “that which leads to luck” or “to bear power and luck.”

It is a protective charm intended to keep the bearer safe on journeys, strengthen them in body and spirit, and ensure they come home unharmed. Historically, the stave was often inscribed on a person’s body, carried on paper, or carved into objects as a traveling safeguard.
