A hand crafted altar designed to serve as the central focus of ritual work and sacred space. Altars naturally shift and change alongside the practitioner, and this piece is intended to provide a stable foundation for a wide range of ritual and devotional workings.
This altar features both the Elder Futhark and the Helm of Awe. The Elder Futhark is the oldest known runic alphabet, used by Germanic peoples between the 2nd and 8th centuries, and is closely tied to early Norse mythology and runic symbolism. The Helm of Awe, also known as Ægishjálmr, is an Icelandic magical stave referenced in the Völsunga saga as part of the hoard taken by Sigurd after slaying the dragon Fafnir. Within Norse tradition, the Helm of Awe is associated with protection, warding, and the reinforcement of spiritual and mental boundaries.
Together, these symbols create an altar surface intended for focused ritual work, protection centered practice, and historically inspired devotional spaces.
