This ornate incense burner is made for ritual incense while keeping ash and incense dust contained in one place. The lidded design allows smoke to escape through the openings at the top while the bowl below catches the remains of the burning cone.
Before burning an incense cone, add a shallow layer of salt to the bottom of the dish. Place the cone on top of the salt and light it as usual. The salt creates a barrier between the burning cone and the burner while helping collect the incense dust.
The burner also includes a small diffuser pad. Add a few drops of fragrance or essential oil to the pad and place it inside to use the piece as an oil diffuser without burning incense.
A long decorative handle makes cleanup easy. Once the burner has cooled completely, simply lift it by the handle and empty the spent incense and salt.
