This sweatshirt has staves down both sleeves. All the staves have been found in historical documents that currently reside in various museums.

STAVE MEANINGS:

First sleeve:

1. Að unni “To get a girl”, this magical stave is used by a man in love to gain the affections of the object of his desires.

2. For protection

3. They should be carved one on each side of the sharpening stone.

4. If a cow´s milk is bloody. Carve this stave on oak and milk the cow over it.

5. Keep these staves in the sheep house and the fox will not bite them.

Second sleeve stave meanings:

1. The Lesser Hagall. Carry this stave against all magic and write it on the shoulder blade of a seal with blood from a mouse.

2. To make your sheep docile. Take juniper and willow that grow facing east when the sun rises and carve this stave on it and let your sheep walk over it in summer and under it in winter.

3. Skelkunarstafur. To make your enemies afraid. (A similar looking stave is titled Óttastafur in the Huld Manuscript.)

4. Blood-oxen - Earth-oxen. To prevent theft, the first by day and the second by night. Carve them on the inside of the lid of the chest which preserves your wealth.
