This handcrafted Loki altar is designed for rituals honoring and invoking the Norse god Loki. Made from dark stained cedar wood, the altar features an engraved depiction of Loki from the Snaptun Stone. Two red wooden bindrunes and a real deer vertebra complete the piece.
The central engraving is inspired by the Snaptun Stone. This historical carving is commonly interpreted as depicting Loki with his mouth sewn shut. In Norse mythology, the dwarves Brokkr and Sindri sew Loki's lips together after he loses a wager. The design is engraved directly into the cedar and hand painted red.
Two wooden bindrunes dedicated to Loki are attached beneath the engraving. Each bindrune is hand cut and painted red. These bindrunes are intended for rituals invoking Loki and seeking his presence during devotional practices.
Loki is associated with cunning and transformation in Norse mythology. His actions frequently bring unexpected changes and challenge the established order. He can be honored during rituals involving personal transformation and confronting difficult truths.
The altar is adorned with a real deer vertebra and decorative metal corner accents. Its wooden base provides space for offerings and ritual items. Use it during invocations or as a dedicated altar for Loki within your home.
