This altar features a deer skull that has been fully processed and prepared by hand, mounted over a burned engraving of the serpent motif from the Skåäng Runestone, also known as Sö 154. The original stone in Södermanland, Sweden, is carved with a looping serpent whose body holds the runic memorial text. That same intertwined serpent band is recreated here on the wood, forming a protective and historically rooted frame beneath the skull.
The skull sits above the central knot of the serpent, creating a strong ritual focal point for offerings, devotional work, ancestral practice, or Norse inspired altar setups. The engraved serpent pattern mirrors the structure of the original runestone carving and adds depth, symbolism, and authenticity to the piece.
