This handcrafted elk skull cap features a blackened finish with hand painted white artwork honoring Hel, the Norse goddess who rules over the realm of the dead.
In Norse mythology, Hel is the daughter of Loki and Angrboda. She presides over Helheim, where many of the dead reside. Her role within Norse mythology connects her to death, the afterlife, and the inevitable cycle of mortality.
A hand painted invocation stave is displayed on the skull cap. This symbol was created specifically to invoke Hel during ritual and serves as a focal point for devotional offerings, deity communication, and spiritual practices dedicated to the goddess.
The skull cap also features a white triple moon design representing the waxing, full, and waning phases of the moon. This symbol is commonly associated with cycles of life, death, and renewal in modern pagan practices. Its inclusion complements the themes of mortality and transition associated with Hel.
The natural texture of the elk bone remains visible beneath the blackened finish. The contrasting white artwork creates a distinctive devotional piece suitable for Norse pagan altars and ritual spaces.
