This piece is made from pine and has a saw tooth hanger on the back for easy placement. I have burnt a Vegvisir into the front of this piece and have encircled it with the Elder Futhark. It is stained a beautiful black ebony.

The hanger you will receive may vary slightly from the photo givin' the wood grain of each piece is different and how the stain sets will all be unique in it's own way.

A Vegvísir (Icelandic 'sign post' or 'wayfinder') is an Icelandic magical stave intended to help the bearer find their way through rough weather. The symbol is attested in the Huld Manuscript, collected in Iceland by Geir Vigfusson in 1880 (but consisting of material of earlier origin).

The Elder Futhark (also called Elder Fuþark, Older Futhark, Old Futhark or Germanic Futhark) is the oldest form of the runic alphabets. It was a writing system used by Germanic tribes for Northwest Germanic dialects in the Migration Period dialects. Its inscriptions are found on artifacts (including jewelry, amulets, tools, weapons, and runestones) from the 2nd to the 8th centuries.
